The Life Of a Dog Walker/ Trainer

No Day, no walk and no dog are ever the same when it comes to being a dog walker and dog trainer or pet sitter. You never know exactly what you are going to get from day to day. One can not predict how their dogs or other peoples dogs are going to behave, one can not predict the outcomes of each walk everyday.

So I say being a dog walker/ trainer/ pet sitter is a new adventure every day. Each day I look forward to seeing the dogs that I will be working with that day. I’ll decide where i’m going to take them for there walk or what methods of training ill be doing with them today. I love to watch my dogs progress from strength to strength with their training, or enjoy watching them having the time of their life on their walks.

One of the best bits about being a dog walker/ trainer/ sitter is seeing the happy faces on every dog or pet I greet. There has not been one dog yet that dose not smile at me when I come to walk them or do some training with them. Not one dog that judges me if I make a mistake or am a little late, they are just glad to see me and glad I am there and I am glad to see them too. I know that one day I may meet some dogs that may find it hard to smile at me when I first meet them they may be fearful or distressed due to pass situations. I sure do hope that when that day comes I can help to put a smile back on there faces for there is no one dog that dose not deserve to be happy.

The best bit about my job is watching a dog that may have had a struggle with something such as lead walking, recall or reactivity progress through training to mastering that struggle. The day that the struggle is no more for me is the most exciting and frilling experience because I can look at that dog and say “yes you did it” and I can look to the owner of that dog and say “wow your amazing look how far your dogs come look at the results”. I love seeing my clients faces when they achieve the goals and dreams that they want for their dogs it’s such a frilling feeling knowing that they will no longer have that struggle to contend with and can continue to enjoy their dogs.

I love my job and I love each and every dog I come across.
